DNA fingerprinting is a term that defines a collection of methods to analyze protein–DNA complexes and to identify the position of the binding site. When a protein binds to a specific site on a DNA sequence, fingerprinting helps to identify where the binding site is.

Here is the description for the LAB: There will be three solutions available in the lab. Your objective is to determine the tonicity of two of these solutions relative to "model cells". These solutions may be isotonic, hypotonic, or hypertonic relative to the egg. Models or simulations are used extensively in science to study phenomena that may otherwise be difficult to study. We will model cells by using eggs. The eggshells have been removed (decalcified) by soaking them in vinegar, and the remaining egg membrane is permeable to water but not sugar. Your group should choose two solutions for your two beakers. You will dry and weigh two eggs before placing them in the beakers. As the egg sits in the solution, it will either gain weight, lose weight, or remain the same weight. By weighing the eggs, you will be able to determine the tonicity of each unknown solution relative to each egg. Each egg should be in the solution for a total of 30 minutes. And here's my result for the LAB: The weights of both egg A and egg B decreased during the experiment. In the first five minutes, the weight of the second egg decreased faster than the weight of the first egg. However, the rate of decrease for the whole experiment (30 minutes) was similar between the two eggs: The first egg lost 16.8% of its original weight, and the second egg lost 15.9% of its original weight. And here's my conclusion: Before the experiment, I hypothesized that if the weight of the egg increases inside the solution, it is a hypotonic solution, and if the weight of the egg decreases inside the solution, it is a hypertonic solution. From this experiment, I can conclude that Solutions A and B are both hypertonic, based on my results. In osmosis, water will flow out of eggs, causing weight decreases when the solution is hypertonic compared to the solution inside the egg. Because the weights of both eggs decreased, I can conclude that Solutions A and B are both hypertonic solutions. Does my hypothesis and conclusion seem right? If my hypothesis and conclusion are wrong, could you fix it? 1st Egg - with Solution 18 2nd Egg with Solution 15 Time (Minutes)
