The atmospheres of planets in the solar system have differences compared to what exists on Earth. Each planet has its own unique atmospheric composition and pressure. All the planets in the solar system, including Earth, have atmospheres. Mercury's atmosphere is very thin and mostly made up of particles from the sun and surface decay. Venus has a hot, dense atmosphere, mainly composed of carbon dioxide. Earth's atmosphere has nitrogen, oxygen, and other gases and is composed of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen with some neon, carbon dioxide, and other gasses. Mars' atmosphere is mainly composed of carbon dioxide. Jupiter is a gas giant, with an atmosphere that is about 90% hydrogen and 10% helium. Saturn is another gas giant with an atmosphere that contains hydrogen and helium, with sulfur that makes it yellowish. Uranus has an atmosphere of hydrogen and helium with ices such as ammonia, water, and methane. Finally, Neptune has an atmosphere containing hydrogen and helium with ices such as methane.
