The roots of the aquatic plant hydrilla are poorly developed and lack xylem tissue. What is an appropriate justification for this? 1. As hydrilla is aquatic in nature, the roots do not have to search for oxygen, and there is no need for xylem to absorb oxygen because the plant is surrounded by water that has dissolved oxygen in it. 2.
