Question
Question asked by Filo student
Discuss how proteins targeted for the ER get translated and placed into the ER's matrix using the SRP pathway. Explain the roles of the ribosome, signal recognition particle, ER docking proteins and translocon. Pay particular attention to the G protein stories and their respective GEFs and GAPs. Who does what, and also include the timing of events. How does the story change for matrix or transmembrane proteins [N or C terminus towards the cytosol]?
