(a) Thecodont: Movable jaws possess teeth embedded in sockets. This is called thecodont dentition.
(b) Heterodont: When different types of teeth are developed to suit their varying feeding habits. This is called heterodont dentition.
(c) Diphyodont: Development of two sets of teeth in the life time of a mammal (milk teeth and permanent teeth). This is called diphyodont dentition.
