Exocrine glands, for example salivary typically have ducts. Endocrine glands are ductless and secrete into the blood . The pancreas is an anomaly since it is both an endocrine and an exocrine gland. In the merocrine salivary glands secretory vesicles form in the golgi body , migrate to the plasma membrane and secrete by exocytosis, In the halocrine, sebaceous glands the cell secretes a product which accumulates in the cytosol. As the cell matures, the whole cell-- including the plasma membrane and intracellular membranes-- becomes the secretory product. In this method of secretion, the whole cell ruptures to release its contents.
