In Drosophila melanogaster, three loci of interest associated with the round ears, endless eyes, and double dorsal phenotypes are physically linked on the same autosome. In the homozygous state, the recessive r allele results in the 'round ears' phenotype, the recessive e allele in the 'endless eye' phenotype, and the recessive d allele results in the 'double dorsal' phenotype. In contrast, the dominant R, E, and D alleles are present in wild type flies. True-breeding flies were crossed to produce F1 offspring, and the F1 females from this cross were then crossed to triple mutant homozygous recessive males. The following eight classes of progeny were observed. a) What is the genotype of the F1 flies? Your answer should indicate the phase of linkage. b) What are the genotypes and phenotypes of the original parent flies? Your answer should indicate the phase of linkage. c) Calculate the map distance in cM between each of the three loci and determine the gene order. Really confused by all of this, please help soon if you can!
