Wogy: Cell - The unit of life 3ogenesis of mitochondria - New mitochondria arise from division of pre-existing mitochondria (Mitochondria divide by binary fission) Endosymbiotic origin from prokaryotic cells :- (i) Type of DNA (DNA sequences, double stranded, circular, G-C rich). (ii) Type of ribosome (70s). (iii) Divided by fission. Plastids are found in all plant cells and in euglenoides. These are easily observed under the (5) PLASTIDS microscope as they are large. They bear some specific pigments, thus imparting specific colours to the plants. Based on the presence or absence and type of pigments plastids can be classified into chloroplasts, chromoplasts and leucoplasts.
