In humans the life of a new born starts with the formation of a zygote which is a diploid structure formed by the fusion of a male and a female gamete. After this there is rapid cell division which is much faster than that takes place during normal cell division. Then after this there is a series of events in various stages which finally leads to the development of a fully grown infant.
