Eotany (Sseend 16 Step-1: Glucose and fructose are converted in to Glucose - 6 - phosphate by the encyme hexekin A molecule of ATP is utilized in this reaction. Phosphorylation reaction takes place in this step. Step-2: Glucose - 6 phosphate is isomerised into fructose - 6 - phosphate with the help of an eronc hexose phosphate isomerase. Step-3: Fructose - 6 - phosphate is converted into fructose 1, 6 - bisphosphate with the help of 4 enzyme phospho fructokinase. 1 molecule of ATP is used for phosphorylation. Step-4: Fructose 1, 6-bisphosphate is cleaved into Glyceraldehyde - 3 - phosphate and Dihydrony acetone phosphate with the help an enzyme aldolase. Fructose 1, 6 bisphosphate Triose phosphate (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate) Dihydroxy acetone phosphate Step-5: Dihydroxy acetone phosphate obtained is converted into Glyceraldehyde - 3-phosphate wis the help of Triose phosphate isomerase. Dihydroxy acetone phosphate Glyceraldehyde -3 -phosphate Step-6: A phosphate group is added to the Glyceraldehyde - 3 - phosphate and it is oxidised by the enzyme glyceraldehyde - 3 - phosphate dehydrogenase. Two molecules of 1, 3 bisphosphoglycet: acid are formed. Step-7: A phosphate group is transferred from 1, 3 bisphosphoglyceric acid to an ADP molecule for the formation of ATP by the enzyme phosphoglycerokinase. Step-8: A phosphoglyceric acid is converted into two phosphoglycerate by the enzyme phosphoglyceromutase (shifting of phosphate group from to ). 3 Phosphoglyceric acid (2 molecules) Phosphoglyceromutase Phosphoglycerate ( 2 molecules) Sfep-9: Enzyme enolase converts phosphoglycerate to phosphoenolpyruvate by removing a water molecule Step-10: Phosphate group is transferred from the phosphoenol pyruvate to ADP molecule to fors ATP and pyruvic acid 2 molecules of ATP are formed. 54
