Answer: (a) Due to the gravitational force of attraction, earth pulls other objects towards itself. The acceleration produced in a body due to the gravitational attraction of the earth is known as the acceleration due to gravity.

(b) The calculated value of acceleration due to the gravity of the earth is 9.8 m/s2.

(c) SI unit of acceleration due to gravity is the same as of the normal acceleration i.e. m/s2.
