How does the force of gravitation between two objects change when the distance between them is reduced to half?

Solution: We know that According to the law of gravitation, the force between any two objects of mass $M$ and $m$ is directly proportional to their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

$F=Gr_{2}Mm $

So, if Distance is halved, i.e new $r=2r $

So, New $F=G2_{2}r_{2} Mm $

$⇒F=4Gr_{2}Mm $

So, Force of gravitation increases by 4 times when distance reduced by half
