Find the distance between the points:

$A(7,−4)$ and $B(−5,1)$.

$A(7,−4)$ and $B(−5,1)$.

Solution:

Distance formula: $(x_{2}−x_{1})_{2}+(y_{2}−y_{1})_{2} $

$A(7,−4)$ and $B(−5,1)$

$AB=(−5−7)_{2}+(1−(−4))_{2} $

$=(−12)_{2}+5_{2} $

$=169 $

$=13$ units.
