Due to presence of group in ethanol, intermolecular hydrogen bonding leads to molecular association. To break this molecular association and hydrogen bonds, extra energy is required. This results in high boiling point.
In methoxymethane, hydrogen bonding is not possible. This results in lower boiling point.
Hence, the boiling point of ethanol is higher in comparison to methoxymethane.
In methoxymethane, hydrogen bonding is not possible. This results in lower boiling point.
Hence, the boiling point of ethanol is higher in comparison to methoxymethane.
