Answer: ASolution: Mineral salts absorbed by the roots move laterally from epiblema to xylem through cortex, endodermis and percycle. Finally, they are transported upwards through xylem alongwith the transpiration stream. Some upward translocation of mineral salts also occurs in the phloem under certain circumstances.
