(b) Both A and R are true, but is not the correct explanation of . Mitosis is the process by which a cell nucleus divides (karyokinesis) to produce two daughter nuclei containing identical sets of chromosomes to the parent cell. It is usually followed immediately by division of cytoplasm (cytokinesis) to form two daughter cells. In plants, cytokinesis occurs by cell-plate formation whereas in animals, it occurs by cell furrow formation.
